Welcome to SmartHealthcare.com, which will provide the same authoritative coverage of health and social care informatics in the UK and beyond as Smart Healthcare magazine, published quarterly from 2003.
However, the move online will allow new interactivity with our readers. The web site allows for sections focusing on regional differences and similarities, the different disciplines of the health services, and different technologies. It also means you can expect new material on a regular basis, rather than having to wait for the next issue.
The quicker pace will allow us to improve coverage of the fast-changing field of health and social care informatics, with the evolution of England's National Programme for IT; the divergence of policy in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; rising public concern over privacy and security of personal data, coupled with rising expectations for online services; and exciting technologies offering new capabilities for care.
SmartHealthcare.com will also be the online home of the annual Smart Healthcare Live exhibition, held in June at ExCeL London, providing developments on exhibitors, speakers and special events over the two days.
SmartHealthcare.com comes from the same stable as other leading magazines, events and business intelligence services including as Government Computing and Public magazines, SmartGov Live (formerly GC Live) and Smart Healthcare Live events, KableDIRECT and a series of one day conferences.
SmartHealthcare.com is published by Kable, a business division of Guardian News & Media Ltd.
